My name is Dr. Thomas Glaza and I am the CEO of Tri-County Counseling and Life Skills Center. I never thought Tri-County Counseling and Life Skills Center would ever be what it is today. I remember when I rented a room to provide counseling for individuals in 2005 and now we have three offices and help more people than I could ever dream. I was able to serve our country in the Navy for over 20 years and now I am able to serve the community of Southwest Florida as the CEO of Tri-County Counseling. In 2004, I identified that there were no outpatient substance abuse or mental health services available within North Port’s city limits. In January of 2005, I founded Tri-County Counseling & Life Skills Center, Inc. to meet that need. When it became evident that there was a large indigent population that could not access mental heath or substance abuse counseling we sought & attained non-profit status, in hopes of securing funding.
Since its inception, Tri-County has obtained contracts with two DUI schools, the Safe Children Coalition, Children’s Network of Southwest Florida, Ryan White funding, and provides the best mental health counseling. By offering to serve as a graduate student training site for several local universities, Tri-County Counseling is afforded the opportunity to closely observe prospective hires for a period of one year or more.
All of Tri-County Counseling’s staff members are passionate about helping others, and are involved in our community, to some degree. All clinicians voluntarily provide free services when they identify that no funding is available for a particular client or family who is in dire need of immediate intervention.
Each one of our programs has been developed with the needs of area residents in mind, utilizing sound therapeutic framework. If you are ever down in North Port, Osprey, or Port Charlotte stop on by and we will have a cup of coffee and quick chat. We appreciate all the support from the community!!!
Best Regards,
Dr. Thomas Glaza
